George Fox students help out around CPRD

On Serve Day--Sept. 9, 2010--about 100 George Fox students put in about 600 hours of labor helping out around Chehalem Park and Recreation District. Thank you!


  • Spread bark chips on Dundee Billick Park playground, trimmed trees and cleaned weeds from baseball infields
  • Removed blackberries from the Harvey Creek Trail in cooperation with the City of Dundee
  • At Chehalem Cultural Center they cleaned windows, pulled weeds, placed 42 parking stops for temporary parking, removed the old fence surrounding the center and helped dig and locate an empty electrical conduit which will be used in the future to bring power out to the lawn area.
  • At the Community Center they cleaned windows
  • At the Adult Enrichment Center, they cleaned wilndows and pulled weeds
  • At Chehalem Golf course, they helped clear brush along the new pedestrian trail
  • Students also set up soccer goals districtwide

Fresh bark chips at Dundee-Billick Park


Fresh bark chips - 150 cubic yards of them - are being spread at Dundee-Billick Park as part of George Fox University Serve Day today.

Dundee Skate Park ribbon cutting this Saturday

You're invited!

Join us to cut the ribbon on CPRD's newest skate park, the Dundee Skate Park. The ceremony will be at 12 Noon on Sunday, Sept. 12 during Party in the Park at CPRD's Dundee-Billick Park. There'll be cake!

The CPRD Dundee Skate Park Committee and DUDES (Dundee Unified Dedicated Excellent Skaters) are still trying to reach their goal to improve the park with a sunshade, picnic table, bench and planters.

Soccer season kicks off Sept. 11th


Soccer is the most popular sport in our district, with 650 players. Saturday, Sept. 11, CPRD soccer fields at Renne and Jaquith parks will be packed with 46 games of nonstop soccer action. Come for all or part.

Extreme League plays the Jamboree. All others begin regular league play.

Chehalem Valley BMX September Races

The BMX track at Ewing Young Historical Park is a nationally certified ABA (American BMX Association) track.

The public is welcome to attend BMX events, but the track is closed to public recreation during scheduled events.

Wednesdays
Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22 (5:30-6:30 reg.)

Saturdays
Sept. 4, 11, 18
Closed Sept 25 for State Finals in Grants Pass

The Wednesday night registration has been moved to 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
