Girls' Night Out - Zumba Dance Party


Just in time to prepare for Mother's Day - Make room for a guilt-free breakfast in bed on Sunday morning!

NEW! Beginning Homebrewing


Learn how to brew your own specialty beers!

This class is intended for the novice. It will provide a firsthand view of the brewing process. We'll start with quality malt extracts and brew a batch. You will learn about the equipment and ingredients you need, get a list of local suppliers and resources, and find out how simple it is to make a great brew. Must be age 21 or older; please bring proof of age to the class.

Meets two times

The Main Event Coming Saturday, May 21st!


THE MAIN EVENT COMING SATURDAY, MAY 21st

  • Where: Chehalem Cultural Center 415 East Sheridan Street in Newberg

Mark your calendar for the second-ever Main Event on Saturday, May 21st.

This family-friendly event allows people from our greater community – Newberg, Dundee, Sherwood, St. Paul, and more – to find out what there is to do in the area this summer, try out activities for free, and win prizes when signing up!

This summer registration fair will show you everything there is to do this summer through Chehalem Park and Recreation District, Chehalem Cultural Center and Portland Community College.

Try out 10-minute mini classes in everything from watercolor painting to water polo, join in demonstrations of Zumba, yoga, bellydance and more. In sports, throw a ball and have the speed clocked on radar. There are fun activities for every age and interest. Get a massage, play some Majong. The event is free.

Sign up for CPRD summer camps and the Junior Golf Summer Series. Register for football and soccer. Visit with Community School, aquatics, recreation, C.A.R.E., preschool, Chehalem Glenn Golf Course and more.

Have you heard that a kayak and canoe rental program is coming this summer? Chehalem Paddle Launch will be featured at The Main Event. Stop in, check out the boats, and find out all the details.

More than 600 people turned out for the first Main Event in February. Come enjoy the music, the action, the refreshments and the fun. Register for any CPRD activity during the event and receive a CPRD prize bag.

Community School Greenhouse plants for sale





CPRD's Community School is kicking off their annual spring plant sale! Proceeds help provide Community School scholarships for local kids.

Porch pots are available now. Choose a Viola bowl or a mixed green salad lettuce bowl for only $5 each. NOTE! Salad bowls are sold out! Viola bowls are still available.

Annual and perennial flowers, herbs, vegetables and 10” hanging Fuchsia baskets will be ready soon and will start at $1 for a 4” pot.

Register now for Sunday Football Clinic


The Sunday Football Clinic is underway now, but it's not too late to join in. This is a fun-filled football clinic for grades 3-8 for the 2011-2012 school year. Football techniques, skill development, and agility drills will be featured. Clinics are instructed by TVYFL and NHS coaches. Held 2 - 3:30 p.m. Free.

2011- 2012 Proposed Budget Available

The CPRD 2011-2012 proposed budget is now available to the public at our Admin Office at 125 South Elliott Road in Newberg.

The Budget Committee will meet 6 p.m. April 12th at the Admin Office. Public input is welcome at the meeting.

A public hearing for the proposed budget will be held 6 p.m. May 26th.
