Chehalem Senior Center Appreciates Chelsea Cox

Thank you to Chelsea Cox for her very generous contribution to the senior center. Chelsea is a 7 year old Girl Scout in troop 10154. She wanted to find a way to give a gift to all the grandmas and grandpas in Newberg. So every time she sold a wonderful box of “Girl Scout Cookies”, she would ask if that person would like to buy a box of cookies for the senior center as well. Chelsea collected and donated 71 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.

So next time you see a box of Thin Mint Cookies set out at the senior center coffee bar, remember the kind act of a special little girl. Thank you Chelseam=, for this unique gift to all the grandmas and grandpas in our community.

New webpage for Newberg Cultural District

As the Newberg Cultural District develops, so too does your way to keep up on what's happening there. Visit the new webpage on the Chehalem Cultural Center website, designed to help you stay updated on plans and events in this area between the cultural center and Newberg Public Library.

You can now link directly to newbergculturaldistrict.org

The Newberg Cultural District has moved beyond a concept and is now a reality with the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) between the City of Newberg and the Chehalem Park and Recreation District earlier this fall. The IGA formally establishes an executive board made up of representatives from the City, CPRD, the Library, the cultural center and the neighborhood, to manage the outdoor activities of the Cultural District as well as work with parking impacts for events within the Library and Cultural Center.
