No school? No problem! All-day CARE will be offered from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Oct., 6, 7 & 14 at

  • Mabel Rush Elementary School CARE Site (grades 1 - 5) at 1441 Deborah Rd. in Newberg – (503) 209-0368
  • Chehalem Community Center CARE Site (ages 3 - 6) at 502 East Second St. in Newberg – (503) 538-1079

Excursions

  • 10/6 Safari Sam’s - leaving at 10 a.m. and returning by 12 p.m.
  • 10/7 OMSI - leaving at 8:45 a.m. and returning by 2 p.m.
  • 10/14 Sweet Oregon Berry Farm Pumpkin Patch - leaving at 9:30 a.m. and returning by 12:30 p.m.
Please provide a home lunch. We will provide snacks, activities, games, and fun.

  • Clean up takes place on water (by kayak, canoe or SUP) and on land (by bicycle and foot).

Final weekend of Chehalem Paddle Launch


Thank you to everyone who made the first season of the paddle launch a success.

The final day of the 2011 season will be Sunday, Sept. 25th. Please note special hours on Saturday, Sept. 24th are 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

CPRD will participate in the Great Willamette Clean-up on Saturday, Oct. 8th. Details will be coming soon.

Solicitation for Bid

Cultural Center Parking Lot Construction

The Chehalem Park and Recreation District is requesting bids for the construction of a parking lot at the Chehalem Cultural Center which is located at 415 E. Sheridan St., in Newberg, Oregon. Bid packets are available at Chehalem Park and Recreation District Offices located at 125 Elliott Rd., Newberg Oregon. Bids will be accepted up until 1pm, Thursday September 22, 2011, at the same district office. If you have questions, contact Don Clements, Superintendent at 503-537- 4165.

Paddle Launch still open - note reduced hours

Good news, paddle enthusiasts: Chehalem Paddle Launch will stay open weekends until the weather turns unfriendly to water recreation. Please note hours are now 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Questions? Call Chehalem Aquatic & Fitness Center at (503) 537-2909.

George Fox U Serve Day 2011

Whether you are new to gymnastics or returning, join us for an open house from 2 - 4 p.m. Sat., Sept. 17th at Chehalem Armory, in honor of National Gymnastics Day.  Take a tumble on the Tumble Trak and enjoy all four events - floor, vault, bars and beam.
