Mural finished at Bonnie Benedict Preschool

Sherwood resident Allison Hamilton was recognized at the CPRD Board meeting Aug. 26 for the creation of a mural at CPRD's Bonnie Benedict Preschool. The colorful outdoor mural evokes a child's impression of a sunny meadow of wildflowers and trees, livening up the courtyard space where C.A.R.E. childcare and preschool children spend time each day.

Allison created the mural to earn the Girl Court Gold Award for Girl Scouts of Oregon and Southwest Washington. The 18-year-old managed the entire project, including securing paint donations from Sherwin Williams, conceptualizing the design and leading children in helping paint the mural (their handprints create the flowers).
