Chehalem Heritage Trails Public Information Meeting

Public informational meeting on Phase One of proposed Chehalem Heritage Trails

6 p.m. Tuesday, March 8th

Adult Enrichment Center
101 West Foothills Drive
Newberg, Oregon 97132
(Adjacent to Crater Elementary School)

Chehalem Park and Recreation District is holding a public meeting on the Master Plan for Phase 1 of proposed Chehalem Heritage Trails. Public comments are welcome.

Phase One would develop approximately 20 miles of trail connecting Dundee and Newberg along Dayton Avenue, paralleling lower and middle Hess Creek, and linking the Willamette River waterfronts in Newberg and Dundee through pedestrian, bicycle, and multiuse trails.

This meeting will update the public on the progress of the Master Plan for Phase 1 (slated for completion in early 2011). This plan identifies the trail route, where easements will be needed across private property, plus preliminary engineering and cost estimates.

The Advisory Committee met four times and has concluded. Members include representatives from Dundee, Newberg, Yamhill County, Oregon State Parks, George Fox University, and more.

Vigil-Agrimis, Inc., a Portland-based design firm that leads parks and trails projects, is leading a consultant team assisting CPRD with preliminary design for the proposed trail. Paul Agrimis is the project manager for the consultant team.

IT'S COMING!

You could try out 10-minute sample classes for free, or just hover in the back and watch. You could take your kids and sign them up for everything from pottery to softball to music lessons. You could meet up with a friend and check out a Zumba demo, or linger over a cup of coffee having a one-on-one conversation with an instructor about what they teach and how they teach it.

You could sign up for everything with all three right then and there and have your family's spring activities planned.

IT'S COMING!

CPRD, PCC and the cultural center are bringing you a three-ring circus starting with our first-ever Main Event, Under the Big Top at Chehalem Cultural Center. Bring your kids, meet up with friends. Drop in anytime during the course of the day for entertainment, demos, refreshments, door prizes, and fun.

And if you register for a CPRD activity that day, you'll receive a bag of CPRD premiums valued at $120!

This free Saturday event will happen four times a year, to kick off each season. Be there for the very first one!
