2015 Community School Plant Sales
We have a great selection of lovingly raised plants for your consideration, at terrific values. Stop by and help benefit our Community School program. Community School showcases are public variety-style performances in which students demonstrate what they have learned in Community School activities - playing musical instruments, dancing, singing, choir, even cool math tricks and dog obedience.
Safety Town Volunteers Wanted

Spring Sports Dates
Chehalem Park and Recreation District spring sports programs are now starting, as registrations are closing.
Girls’ Fast Pitch Softball team placement will take place on
Sunday, March 1. Teams will be announced the following week.
The first practice for Middle School Track (grades 6 to 8)
will take place at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 9, at GFU track stadium. A parent
meeting will take place at the same time and within the same location.
Registration is now on a case-by-case basis for Youth
Lacrosse (boys and girls grades 3 to 8), depending on the league. Practices
will start the week of March 9th. Coaches will contact participants directly
with details.

Director Mike McBride named SDAO Outstanding Board Member of the Year
Special Districts Association of Oregon (SDAO) awarded Mike McBride the 2014 Service Award for the
Board member category - in other words, Board member of the year. Mike was honored at the annual SDAO awards banquet on Feb. 7 in Eugene, with several CPRD directors in attendance. A special tribute video was shown.
Mike has served on the CPRD Board of Directors since 1983, giving him the most seniority. He is a self-employed Farmers Insurance agent. He is also chairman of fundraising for Newberg Kiwanis, and has been voted Kiwanian of the Year twice.
Two of the Board's accomplishments that Mike is especially proud of during his tenure are the creation of Chehalem Senior Center and Chehalem Glenn Golf Course.
