Jr. Tiger Basketball
Jr. Tiger Basketball is designed to teach the fundamental skills of the game of basketball, in addition to sportsmanship, discipline, and cooperation in a safe and fun environment. Teams will practice each week as scheduled with their assigned coach. Games are on Saturdays. Each player will receive a uniform shirt.
Who: Boys & Girls - Grades 3-6
Fee: Grades 3-6 $74/$84 early bird discount before 11/9
Player Fee: Grades 3-6 $94 $104 after 11/8
Additional $20 all ages after 11/15 if assigned to a team

Basketball try outs for grades 5 - 8
CPRD Three Rivers Basketball League Tryouts for grades 5 - 8, boys and girls, will be held Sept. 29 and Oct. 6th.
CPRD is beginning its third year with the Three Rivers Basketball League (TRL). TRL rules require that all players grades 5 - 8 reside within the Newberg School District to be eligible for the 2013-2014 season.
Practices will begin late October. Games may be played on Saturday, Sunday or midweek evenings depending on gym availability through out the league. TRL team fees include 18 games and end of season tournament.
At the 5th & 6th grade level those that are not participating in the TRL may play in the CPRD Jr. Tiger league, with a team placement clinic on 11/16. Each player must attend a minimum of one try-out to be eligible.
Boys - TRL try-out dates/times: 9/29, 10/6, (5th & 6th 3:00 – 5:00), (7th & 8th 3:00 -5:30 p.m.) NHS main gym
Girls - TRL try-out dates/times: 9/29, 10/6, (5th & 6th 3:00 – 5:00), (7th & 8th 3:00 - 5:30 p.m.) NHS Aux gym for the girls.
Fees: Registration, Player fees for the TRL League will be $149 per player.
This includes all 5th thru 8th graders. Teams are responsible for uniforms.
5th - 8th grade – Player try-out fee of $20 (nonrefundable) must be paid before a player can participate in try-outs. Registration payment balance $129 must be received in full by 10/15 in order to be placed on a team. Due to team and player commitment, the fees are nonrefundable. The $20 try-out fee will be applied to registration fee if placed on a team.
5th & 6th grade players who will not be participating in the TRL will have their player fees applied for registration in the Jr. Tiger basketball program, with all overpayments being refunded.

Office personnel are the heart of the senior center. performing a variety of routine clerical, secretarial and administrative tasks. Approved applicants will aid in keeping official records, provide administrative support, and assist in the administration of the standard operating policies and procedures or the department. We ask that applicants are available for a minimum of 4 hours per week at a specified day and time every week. We'll work with your schedule; hours will be determined based on facility need and volunteer availability.

Fall Aquatics Activities: Swim Lessons and Classes
Group
Swim LessonsChehalem Aquatic Center is accepting registration for our
Monday/Wednesday and Tuesday/Thursday swim lesson programs. Morning, afternoon
and evening lessons are available. Our Regular Group format meets twice a week
for 6 weeks; our Small Group format runs twice a week for 3 weeks. Registration
is based on both age and skill level. Lessons begin at 12 months - 14 years with
novice through advanced levels. Preregistration is required; in person (at
1802 Haworth
Avenue ), over the phone (503-537-2909),
or online (www.cprdnewberg.org). The
first of our fall sessions begin the week of September 23rd. Package prices from $53/$63. Register
early and receive a $5 discount per swimmer.
Friday
Night Swim LessonsFriday night lessons are back at
Chehalem
Aquatic Center by popular request. A once a week
program for five weeks with each lesson running for 45 minutes with a maximum of
4 children per class. Preschool 1 – 3 and Level 1 – 6 classes are offered. Session 1 begins Friday,
September 23rd and preregistration is required; in

Prices from $46/$56. Register early and receive a $5 discount per

Private
Swim LessonsChehalem Aquatic Center is accepting new clients for
private swim lessons. Private lessons are a one on one teaching format and
lesson structure is modified to meet each clients needs. Private lesson sessions
run twice a week (M/W or Tu/Th) for either three or six weeks. Call 503-537-2909 to be placed on the appointment list.
Cost is $96 (in district residents) for
three weeks.
Chehalem Aquatic Center has a variety of water exercise classes. With low to zero impact it is easy on our joints and is great way to increase our cardiovascular fitness level while toning the entire body. Pool temperature is 86 degrees. No registration required; drop-in $4.25. Shallow Water Exercise, Mon/Wed/Fri 8:00 - 9:00 a.m and Tues/Thurs 9:45 - 10:45 a.m.; Deep Water Ex, Mon/Wed/Fri 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.; Our only evening class is also Shallow Waterobics, Tues/Thurs 8:30 - 9:30 p.m.
